This work came from the Royal Collection.
Análisis artístico
This full-length portrait shows the king standing in a natural landscape, dressed for the hunt. He is wearing a two-cornered hat and displaying on his chest the sash of the Order of Charles II. His right hand rests on a shotgun and at his feet there sits a hunting dog.
Agustín Esteve made three copies of this painting and two of its companion piece, María Luisa de Parma with Mantilla, in around 1799-1800. Two of these pairs of portraits belonged to Manuel Godoy.
