Historia
See Sad presentiments of what must come to pass.
This drawing, along with the set of preparatory drawing for the rest of the prints in this series, formed part of the Carderera Collection and was subsequently acquired by the Prado Museum where it is currently housed.
Análisis artístico
The changes Goya made between the preparatory drawing and the final print lie in the background on the left of the composition. The drawing shows a figure lying on one side, facing the background. In the print, Goya chooses to show a body in the same position but facing the viewer. Moreover, in the print there is a woman in the distance holding a child in her arms: this figure does not appear in the drawing.
