Goya probably made this drawing during his stay in Valencia in the summer of 1790. It belongs to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia, which has it on deposit in the Valencia Museum of Fine Arts.
In this drawing Goya depicted a boy standing with his legs apart and his right arm raised with the intention of throwing something in his hand.
From a technical point of view, this work is less surprising than the other drawing Goya produced during his summer stay in Valencia in 1790: Academia: Male Nude. Pierre Gassier suggests that this is a similar type of drawing to those he executed to prepare his tapestry cartoons, the main difference being that in this case he used sanguine instead of black pencil. Technically, it is executed with short, rapid strokes.
Regrets can be seen in the area of the legs.
