This work was acquired by the British Museum in 1850.
Análisis artístico
This drawing has clearly been made with the intention of later making it into a print. Goya has made the preparatory drawing in such a way as to make it easy to reproduce using the technique of etching. In particular, he has established bold contrasts between the darker and the lighter areas.
The drawing was not simply sketched out on the copperplate but instead faithfully reproduced, with the final print producing a perfect mirror image of the drawing.
