Análisis artístico
This is a preparatory drawing made for the etching.
As with the rest of the unpublished prints, Goya used red pencil in his preparatory drawing. The smudged lines of this work are particularly interesting, suggesting Goya's hesitation when it came to the subsequent application of the aquatint.
The imprint left around the edge of the drawing demonstrates that a press was used to obtain a counterproof.
