Preparatory drawing for the Caprice nº 37, Whether the disciple will know more?
This sketch has some differences with respect to the engraving. The first of these is that on the page of the book carried by the donkey, four "A's" have not been written, but lines that seem to form an "M". The second significant difference is that the master's ears are not hidden under a cap, but are visible. However, it seems that Goya made a correction that he will keep in the engraving, as he draws a cap on top of it in the sketch in the Prado Museum.
