This preparatory drawing shows some differences with engraving no. 28, Chiton. In the sketch, the difference in age between the two female figures is not clearly visible, as the young woman is completely covered. In this way, Goya has partially revealed the young woman's face in the engraving. He has also made more evident the index finger over her mouth, which is hardly perceptible in the sketch, a gesture that reveals that the young woman is asking the old woman for her complicity.
The paper is very yellowish, so it can be assumed that it has been exposed to light.
