This work belonged to the Lafitte collection in Madrid before it was acquired by the Pinakothek in Munich.
Análisis artístico
This is, perhaps, the most tragic scene of this series on panels, its subject being an injured or dead man. His limp, inert body rests against a large rock which comprises the background of the composition. Behind him, it seems that a hooded figure flees the scene, probably the wrongdoer who has abandoned the dying man to his fate.
