Análisis artístico

Preparatory drawing for Caprice 35: It unchains him.

There are profound differences between the drawing and the final print, as the former depicts three figures, an old man being shaved by an apparently clumsy barber in the presence of a woman hidden under a hood. The engraving, on the other hand, shows three women (prostitutes) surrounding a man seated on a stool.
