Self Portrait (Autorretrato)

In terms of composition, this self portrait is very similar to that housed in the Castres Museum in France (Selfportrait). Perhaps this version is less luminous and has less force than the previous work; nevertheless, the painter seems to be dressed in the same green jacket and white tie, with the same hairstyle and glasses. The artist's jacket - indeed, the whole scene - has been rendered with a more diffuse finish, almost taking on the appearance of washes of paint. For this reason, some authors believe that this is a sketch of the Castres painting; either that, or a copy or replica.
