See The Kite.
The tapestry resulting from this cartoon was to be an oeverdoor on the north wall of the dining hall and formed a pair with that of Boys Inflating a Bladder.
Four boys try to reach the fruits in a tree; one crouches down on all fours whilst another climbs up on his back to gain some height and the other two stand further back, looking on.
Although this work is paired with Boys Inflating a Bladder, this cartoon is stylistically more closely related to Card Players, in the same way that the other is much closer to The Kite. The boys stealing the fruit from the tree, the shade of which provokes luminous contrasts in colours in their clothing, are reminiscent of the gamblers, also situated underneath a tree, and in both cases eagerly hoping for a reward.
